  • James Albert Hutton

August 16, 1937 to October 3, 2022 Dad. Grandfather. Son. Brother. Uncle. Friend. Businessman. But most importantly, husband. After 85 years, James “Albert” Hutton left his earthly home on October 3, 2022. Despite our deep sadness, all who loved him take comfort in the fact that he was reunited with Mona, the love of his life and best friend, just days before their 60th wedding anniversary. Albert had two passions in life – his family and his work -- in that order. His daughter Deb and her husband Tim Hudak and their daughters Miller and Maitland, his son James and his children Andrew, Zachary (Maddie), Ben and Meredith, along with their mother Sharon, will miss his subtle wit and engaging smile. The pure joy in his eyes whenever his grandchildren were around said everything there was to say about his love for them. He was blessed to have a close relationship with his six siblings and their families, and he cherished the special relationship he had with Don and Nancy Hutton. Despite starting out with limited money and education, Albert built J.A. Hutton Fuels into a thriving business. His success came from a quiet determination, stubbornness, and incredible work ethic. He then turned his hobby of home building into a second successful business venture. He was deeply proud of every home and apartment building he built and loved to tell stories about the challenges of development. They regularly included a rant about government regulation and red tape! Despite the many hours he worked, he always had time to support his community through his church, his volunteer activities with Mona and his love of politics. A celebration of Albert’s life will be held on Monday October 10 at 2:30 at Knox Presbyterian church in Listowel. Visitation will occur from 1 to 2pm that afternoon. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation & Sleeping Children Around the World. Online condolences may be left at www.brennemanfuneralhome.ca.
