July 14, 1912 to October 15, 2008 Arend Bakker, formerly of R.R. #1 Monkton, passed away at Brantford General Hospital on October 15, 2008. He resided at Hardy Terrace, R.R. #2 Brantford and was born 96 years ago in The Netherlands, a son of the late Jacob and Jantje (Moral) Bakker. Beloved husband of the late Maria (Rodermond) Bakker who predeceased him in 1993. Father of Jacob Bakker and Sandra Stoddart of Brantford, Jane and John Hoggart of Londesboro. Remembered by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and his brother John Bakker and his wife Els of Sarnia. As per Arend's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral home visitation. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date.

She resided in Listowel and was born 67 years ago in Elma Township, a daughter of the late Frank and Ellie (Thedorff) Crowe. She was a member of Calvary United Church, Listowel. Donna cherished time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, crosswords, quilting and playing cards. She was a Girl Guide leader and served as District Commissioner for many years. Donna was the beloved wife of Lloyd Turney whom she married in 1957; the loving mother of Ken and Judy of Fordwich, Keith and Jill of Picton, Greg and Darlene of Listowel, Gayle and David Ludington of Atwood, Patricia and Dwight MacMillan of Listowel; special grandma of Jennifer, Melissa, Laura & Joey, Becky, Caitlin, Jessica, Brooke, Nicole, Alexandra, Ashley, Mary Pat, Alicia, Jamie, Dylan, Dayton and great-grandma of Zach, Brody, Bensen and Keylae. She was the dear sister of Wanda and Roy Bridge of Listowel, Ann and Darryl Abbott of Homesville, Velma and Ron Hamilton, Frances and David Long all of Atwood, and sister-in-law of Garnet and Marion Turney of Arthur, Ollie and Lloyd Moore of Palmerston, Fran and Lloyd Johnston, Ralph and Diana Turney all of Listowel, Cecil Cowan of Orangeville. Donna will also be remembered by Mark Downs, special adopted grandsons, and many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Sonny (Allan) Crowe and his wife Karen. Also survived by sisters-in-law Mary Strachan of Listowel, Lorraine and Tom Dewar of Listowel, Delores and Andy Buchanan of RR4 Listowel, Lillian Pestell of Monkton, Elaine Pestell of Mitchell, Pauline Pestell of Orillia, brothers-in-law Larry Pestell and Arlene Riehl of Trowbridge, Robert Pestell of Monkton. Fondly remembered as an uncle, great uncle and great-great uncle. Predeceased by his parents Howard and Muriel Welsh and in-laws Russell and Elizabeth Pestell. Paul attended Palmerston High School. He graduated in 1970 from Business Administration at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. Paul and Faye are owners of Cross Country Concrete Ont. Ltd, started in 1980. Paul loved to relax at the cottage where he could boat and fish. He had a love of wood working. The best place in the world was his farm where he had a garden and tractor. July 10, 1918 to September 20, 2008 Our cherished mother Margaret Amelia Fleming, nee Cole passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 20th 2008. She was born in Fullarton Township on July 10th, 1918 and was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dr. Brydone Fleming. Margaret will be deeply missed by her daughters Karen and Kathryn who feel truly blessed to have had their lives enriched by her constant and abundant love and support. She will also be lovingly remembered by her brother Lloyd and her sister-in-law Gladys; her nephew Harry Nott and his wife Sharon; her nephew Ken Cole and his wife Marg; her special cousin Esther Smale; and her devoted and loving friend Krista Hodder. In 1940, Margaret graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Stratford General Hospital and worked in Stratford until her marriage in 1948. Together she and her late husband Dr. Brydone Fleming (OVC 1949) served the Atwood farming community until his death in 1975. They were both very proud of their village and were strong supporters of the Presbyterian Church and the Lions Club. Margaret was an avid gardener, bridge player, antique collector, world traveler and a wonderful friend to many. Family, friendship and faith were the cornerstones of Margaret's life; these foundations helped her always meet life's challenges and adventures with courage, hope and determination. With her beautiful smile and kind, generous spirit, Margaret endeared herself to all who had the good fortune to know her. Possessed of a gentle grace and quiet, private nature, Margaret was nonetheless a strong, independent woman who unfailingly gave her best to every endeavour. Her kindness, love, courage and strength were inspirational. Margaret will be dearly missed but wonderful memories will rest in our hearts. Born in Mornington Township, he was a son of the late Clayton and Irma (Roth) Schultz. Cliff worked as a millwright at Schneider's for 24 years and was very dedicated and proud of his job. Beloved husband of Franca (Argenio) whom he married in 1991. Loving father of Rick and Brenda, Mary Jane Schultz and Dave Buller all of Kitchener, Wendy and Jody Sachan of Tiverton. Special grandpa of Robert, Fawn, Courtney, Caitlyn, Jacob, Jenna and Jerrett. Great grandpa of Elizabeth. She was a life member of both Donegal Women's Institute and North Perth Women's Institute. She was also an active volunteer for the Listowel Agricultural Society. June was the beloved wife of Murray Cockwell whom she married in 1960; the loving mother of David and Marilyn of RR#1 Atwood and their son Scott, Debbie and Fraser Ferguson of London and their children Alexander and MacKenzie, Steven and Leah of Winnipeg and their children Ben, Carson and Jayda. She was the dear sister of Marjorie Coleman of Exeter and Mark and Kathy Smith of Egmondville. June will also be remembered by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Neil and Bernice Cockwell of Atwood, Bette Cockwell of Listowel, Jim Whiteoak of Markdale and by her nieces, nephews and cousins. May 28, 1911 to July 13, 2008 Thelma passed away peacefully at her residence in Ritz Lutheran Villa, Mitchell on Sunday July 13, 2008 in her 98th year. She was born in North Easthope Township in 1911, a daughter of the late William and Emma (Heyer) Dewing. In 1930 she married Clarence Frederick Wick, who predeceased her in 1967. They lived in Monkton all of their married life. Thelma moved to Ritz Villa in December 1985. She was a member of Monkton United Church. Left to mourn her, are daughters Doris Allen of Barrie, Audrey (Les) Simonffy of Hamilton, sons Fred (Edna) of St. Marys and Gary (Elnor) of Monkton. She will be missed by 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, a number of in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter Marleen Wick, her sister Margaret Ward, brothers Gordon Dewing and Nelson Dewing, sons-in-law Gerald Fitzpatrick, Ivan Allen and Mervyn Hall.
