May 7, 1949 - February 14 , 2024 Passed away in her sleep at her Kitchener home on February 14, 2024 at the age of 74. A retired PSW who dedicated her life to helping others. She always found joy in her family, friends and sweet Yorkshire Terrier Suzy Q. She was the caring and loving mother of Jeffery (Anita) Renaud of Toronto and David (Mia) Renaud of Los Angeles. Cherished grandmother of Alicia, Sara, Marcus, Jason, Jem and Persephone, and the great grandmother of Audrey. Predeceased by her brothers Barry Cleland and Blaine Cleland. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place on May 11 th 2024 at 1:00 PM at Brenneman Funeral Home. March 2, 1936- January 31, 2024 Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Huronlea Home for the Aged on Wednesday January 31, 2024 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Stewart Hymers (2004). Loving mother of Brian (Jackie) Hymers of Goderich, Barry “Toad” (Blanche) Hymers of Moorefield, Bonnie (Steven) Leith of Newry and Brenda Hymers of Wingham. Cherished grandmother of Greg (Nicole), Laura (Derek), Abby (Dennis), Cody (Amanda), Kayla (Matt), Shayne (Sheila) and Andrew (friend Dani). She will be remembered by her 13 great grandchildren. Survived by her Sister Norma Fischer, brother Allan (Mildred) Townsend, Murray Townsend, Doug (Ann) Townsend and sister-in-law Mary Ellen Townsend. Predeceased by her parents Norman and Viola Townsend, her brother Herb Townsend and brother-in-law Jack Fischer. Phyllis was a mother to many in the community and always welcomed everyone with open arms and made sure they left with a full belly. She spent lots of time volunteering with the Renegade Car Club. Friends and family will be received on Thursday February 1, 2024 from 6-9 PM at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 14 John st Atwood. Funeral service will be held on February 2, 2024 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment at Donegal Cemetery will be held in the spring. Rev Beth Kerr and Ruth long will be officiating. Loving mother of Dianne (John) Riddell, Shirley (Randy) Foerster and Doug (Karen) McCourt. Beloved by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. September 16, 1954 - January 1, 2024 Don Robertson of Newry, passed away suddenly at his home on January 1, 2024 at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Debbie Robertson. Loving father of Jennifer (Jason) Morgan of Dornoch, Stephanie Robertson (Jordon Skinner) of Listowel, Tyler Robertson (Celine Greig) of Clifford and the late Mathew Robertson. Cherished grandfather of Mackenzie Morgan, Kylie Morgan and Tessa Morgan. Survived by his brothers Ross (Linda) Robertson of Atwood, Ron (Barb) Robertson of Atwood, sister-in-law Lois (the late Bob) Robertson of Atwood, Linda (Les) Rock of Mitchell, brother-in-law of Ron Young (Charlene) of Stratford and mother- in- law Phyllis Young of Stratford. Don will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Don was a member of the Atwood Fire Department for 32 years and enjoyed helping at the Listowel Agricultural Society. He will be remembered for his love of auctions, raising chickens and finding a good deal. November 29, 1930- December 22, 2023 Kenneth Walter Brenneman passed away peacefully at Cedarcroft Place Retirement Residence in Stratford, Ontario on December 22, 2023. Ken was born in Wellesley Township November 29, 1930, to Elmer Brenneman and Edna (Leis) Brenneman. He was in his 94" year. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Mark Brenneman of Plattsville, Ruth (Dan) Schrock of Hayward, Wisconsin, Mary (Myron) Jantzi of Brunner. Ken was blessed with 8 grandchildren, Melanie Brenneman, Martha (Aaron) Baker, Mayra (Steve) Craig, Sophia (Ty) Rook, Eric (Julia) Schrock, Tom (Danae) Schrock, Heidi (Kerry) Martin, Stephanie (Trenton) Yoder and 6 Step-grandchildren. Cherished great grandfather of 21 great grandchildren and 32 step great-grandchildren. Ken is remembered by sisters in law Twila (Cliff) Brenneman, Dolores (Art) Brenneman, Catherine (William) Kuepfer. Predeceased by his loving wife Emmalene (Nafziger) in 1995, parents Elmer and Edna Brenneman, step-father Enos Zehr, brothers Cliff Brenneman, Art Brenneman, brothers and sisters in law William Kuepfer, Arlan and Marion Erb, and son-in-law James Brubacher. Ken was a pastor and evangelist for over 50 years, preaching throughout Canada and the United States. He enjoyed auction sales and the 40 years he worked for Gerber Auctions. Ken had a passion for studying his Bible, preaching, reading, singing, Travel, word games, but most of all he loved the Lord with all his heart. May 6, 1957- December 17, 2023 Doug Smith of Atwood passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at the age of 66. Beloved husband of 24 years to Lorell Smith. Loving father of Dave Hodges (Carrie), Angie (Steve) Cameron and Jason Smith. Cherished grandfather of Eathan, Jessie, Jenasta, Travis, Brooke, Ryder, Cali and Alex. He will be missed by his siblings Diane (Al) Darroch, David (Cathy) Smith, Darlene (Tom) Bowes. Special friend Wendy Butcher. Predeceased by his parents Garnet and Doreen Smith. Doug was a passionate and proud truck driver and will be remembered for his hard work ethic. He was an avid camper and loved his many adventurous travels. He was always offering a helping hand to anyone who needed it. His nurturing and positive attitude helped him and his family through his battle with cancer. He will be missed by all who knew him. Beloved wife of the late Archie Coghlin (2006). Loving mother of Carol (Leo) Hanlon of Ingersoll, Allan (Nancy) Coghlin of Atwood and Bob Coghlin of Atwood. Cherished grandmother of Adam (Katie) Coghlin, April (Ryan) Bowles, Tiffany Coghlin (Mike Cascagnette), Tatyana Coghlin, Scott Hanlon and the late Andy Coghlin. She will be missed by her great grandchildren Emersyn, Hannah, Brooklyn, Blake, Jase,Damen and Eloise. Survived by her brother Austin (Margaret) Clipperton of Walford, brother-in-law James Wilkie (Edna) of St. Thomas, sister-in-law Olive Coghlin Walsh of Listowel. Predeceased by her siblings Margaret (Wes) Jones, Jennie (Gene) Culbert, Yvonne Wilkie (Rev. Jim Van Slyke) and several in laws. Myrtle was a former member of Atwood United Church. She will be remembered for her involvement in Atwood UCW, Federated Women’s Institute, 4-H leader and avid crocheter. Myrtle raised many boxer dogs and imported and sold several Japanese Embroidery kits. March 31 1950 - December 13, 2023 Keith McMillan of Bayfield, formerly of Seaforth and Atwood, passed away peacefully with family by his side at Alexandra Marine & General Hospital in Goderich on Wednesday December 13 th, 2023, at the age of 73. Beloved husband to Bonnie McMillan (nee McIver). They were in their 50 th year of marriage. Loving father of Lucas (Kelly) McMillan of Waterloo, Heather (Jason) Denstedt of Shanty Bay and Ian McMillan of Kincardine. Cherished grandfather of Alexandra and Abigail. He will be remembered by his siblings Murray (Linda), Kevin (Carrie), and Marion, plus nieces, nephews and extended family in Canada and Australia. Keith is predeceased by his parents John and Ina McMillan and his sister Margaret. Keith spent his life dedicated to agriculture. He was well known throughout Southwestern Ontario as his work brought him close to many farming families, most notably through his work at Pioneer Hi-Bred and culminating with his version of ‘retirement’ at Crop Quest. He loved his vacation families and was a proud member of those communities wherever he went. His favourite stories usually came from the early days in Atwood, and from time spent at Pine Lake, Canada House, and his recently adopted boating family at A Dock in Goderich. A gathering of friends and family will be held at Elma Memorial Community Centre 251 Main St. Atwood, Ontario. On January 13 th, 2024, between 2:00 and 5:00. Family tributes will take place at 3:00. Making too much of a fuss might risk going against Keith’s modest nature, but regardless, let’s salute him together by bringing a photo, memento, or story of happy times. September 24, 1945 to February 7, 2020 Stanley Bentley – of Listowel, formerly of Cranbrook, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Wingham and District Hospital on Friday February 7, 2020 at the age of 74. Stan enjoyed gardening, fishing, and sports, especially playing hockey. Beloved husband of Beverley (Wood) Bentley whom he married in 1965. Loving father of Dean (Lori) Bentley. Special grandpa of Jessica (Josh) Wesselink and John Bentley (Rolinda Nagel). Dear brother of Lee (Pauline), Sharon Murphy and Danny (Iowen). His special little fury friend and Friday playmate, Ozzie, will sadly miss him. Brother-in-law of Ruthann Siemon and Bruce Wood. Fondly remembered by his Goddaughter Jackie McKee and many nieces, nephews and cousins. June 4, 1927- November 7, 2023 Cornelis (Case) Johannes Tegenbosch, formerly of Route 2 Atwood, passed away peacefully at his residence in Royal Terrace, Palmerston on Tuesday November 7, 2023 at the age of 96. Case and his wife Nellie farmed for many years at Route 2 Atwood. Case was an avid dairy farmer his whole life. He was a member of St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, Kinkora and was a fourth degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus. Predeceased by his wife Petronella (Nellie) Tegenbosch (2022). Loving father of Marilyn Whaley (Dennis Horton), Chris (Christine), Joanne (Wim) Vink. Dear Opa of Carolyn (Brad), Natalie, Jessica (Randy), Janine (Jim), Nick (Vera), Ian and great-Opa of Emily, Curtis, Florentina and William. Fondly remembered by family in Holland.
