Wes Albrecht – formerly of Atwood, passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Wednesday March 20, 2019 at the age of 83. Wes was a mechanic all his life. The old story was that if Wes couldn’t fix it, it couldn’t be fixed. He enjoyed race cars and racing, then the love of horses took over and he loved racing horses. Lost Heir was his game and he enjoyed many card games with his buddies from the Listowel Legion. Beloved husband of Inez (Martin) Albrecht for 40 years. Father of Terry (Deb) Albrecht, Angel (Jerry) McIntosh, Debbie Galbraith and father-in-law of May Albrecht. Step-father of Sandy Newton and Kevin Lannin. Grandpa of Barb and Tonia Pehlke, Jason and Matthew McIntosh, Michael and Angela Galbraith, Michelle Albrecht, Krystal Albrecht, Brianne Albrecht, Krista Cook, Ashley Albrecht, Stephanie Albrecht and step-grandpa of Derek Stroeder, Trevor and Trishia Stroeder, Cory Lannin, Matthew Lannin. Missed by many great-grandchildren. Brother of Norman and Mavis, Ivan and Inez, Ron and Marj, Ruth Ann and Doug Dudgeon. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Mary (Steckly) Albrecht, his son David, son-in-law Kenny Galbraith, brother Harold (in infancy), sisters Edith and Edna (in infancy), and Thelma and husband Raymond Nutt. In keeping with Wes’ wishes, there will be no visitation and a private family service will be held at a later date.
