Viola Johnston

May 18, 1925 to May 22, 2019

Viola Johnston - of Scarborough, passed away peacefully at Bendale Acres on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the age of 94. Voila is survived by: beloved husband of 68 years Harold; her sisters, Florence, Helen and Linda; her brother Gilbert (Gail); her sons, Robert (Janet), Brian (Marilyn), Jim; daughter-in-law Rose; her much loved grandchildren, Beverly, Patricia, Jennifer, Richard, Ryan, Sarah, Erin (Brad), Emily, Michelle and Christopher; her great- grandchildren Ethan, Peyton, Madelaine and Jacob; and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, Debra Johnston and Rhonda Love. She is predeceased by: her parents Gilbert and Rose (Fabre) Spencer; sisters Gloria, Betty, and Vivian and son Richard. In keeping with Viola’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A social gathering will be held at Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood on Saturday June 29th commencing at 12:00 noon with a coffee-tea and pastry offering followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. and burial in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood. Pastor Brian Hymers will officiate. A Celebration of Life will follow at 17 Kerr Street, Guelph, ON at 4:30 p.m. for those who wish to attend. The family wishes to thank the Bendale Acres Nursing Home for the expert care given to Viola for the past 12 years.
