Meretta Whetstone

August 3, 1928 to October 20, 2019

Meretta Whetstone – of Listowel, passed away peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Listowel on Sunday October 20, 2019 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Elmer Whetstone who predeceased her in 2003. Mother of Robert (Ruby) and Allan (Nancy Firth). Grandma of David, Tracy, Charlene, Mark, and Stacie. Remembered by Julie Hulley and her many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Meretta was the last surviving member of her family, being predeceased by her parents Ernest and Janet (Brown) Cripps, sister Beatrice (Albert) Tessaro, brothers Ernie (Betty) and Elwood, four half-brothers and three half-sisters. Also predeceased by her daughter-in-law Donna Whetstone and grandson Scott. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Thursday October 24, 2019 from 6-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Friday October 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ralph Dwarika officiating. Interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
