Marjorie Smith

October 21, 1935 to January 1, 2020

Marjorie Elizabeth Smith – After a long battle with dementia, the family announces Marjorie’s peaceful passing, with her family by her side, on January 1, 2020 at the age of 84. She resided in Gorrie and was formerly of Monkton, Mitchell and Wiarton. Marjorie was an active member of Knox Presbyterian Church in each community, the Women’s Institute, Trinity Group, Hospital Auxiliary and the Red Hats at various times throughout her life. She is now reunited with her beloved late husband of 56 years Henry (2009), her sons Michael (1975) and Charlie (2019). Dear mother of Susanne (Bill) Bos, Brad (Donna) Smith and mother-in-law of Lori Smith. Will be dearly missed by her friend Dawn Erison and loving niece Wendy Thorn. Also survived by her sisters-in-law Grace (Dave) Park and Joan Smith. Loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren and GG to 23 great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Donald (Rose) Smith, brothers-in-law John Smith and Ross Smith and sister-in-law Edythe Smith. In keeping with Marjorie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Monkton on Monday January 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Marc Fraser officiating. Reception to follow in the church basement. .
