Kenneth (Ken) Nethercott

January 22, 1927 to October 3, 2015

Kenneth (Ken) Nethercott It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of Ken in the early morning hours of October 3, 2015 at Listowel Memorial Hospital in his 89th year. Ken was a faithful church member and very dedicated to Atwood United Church where he held many offices over the years. He was a former member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge No. 332 Atwood. His hobby was woodworking and over the years he made many treasures for family and friends. Ken loved reading, but farming was his passion and he was well known for the acres of strawberries that were enjoyed by so many. He leaves to mourn his wife Eileen, daughter Nancy Sinnamon (Wayne), son Jim Nethercott (Christina), son Jeff Nethercott (Marie Claude), grandchildren Tyler, Natasha and fiance Chris, Ryan, Noah, Adam and Clara, and sister-in-law Myrtle Nethercott. Fondly remembered by the Sturgeon and Smith families and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Clarence and Clara (McCrackin) Nethercott, his first wife Helen, his second wife Barbara, son John Nethercott and brother Roy Nethercott. In keeping with Ken's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A memorial service to celebrate Ken's life will be held at Brenneman Funeral Home, Atwood on Wednesday October 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Colin Snyder officiating. A time of refreshments and fellowship to share memories will be held at Atwood United Church following the service. Interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
