John Voskamp

1934 - 2025

And He said unto me, “My grace is sufficient for thee; for My strength is made perfect in

weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV)   After a life of abiding Christian faith, with the love and support of his families and personnel of Riverview Park Residence in Listowel, Ontario, Heaven’s gates opened and John was called home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Saturday, January 11, 2025. John Voskamp, formerly of Belleville and Atwood, passed away in his 91 st year.  

John Voskamp was born October 9, 1934, in the village of De Lier, in the Netherlands, to Arend and Willemje Voskamp. He was predeceased by parents and five siblings, and wives Evelyn Belch (2024) and Gerritje Van der Hoef (2007). 

Loving father of Bert (Diane) of Atwood and children Dorothy, Delicia, Matthew, Monica and Joy; Geraldine (Peter) Valkenburg of Calgary and children Benjamin, Anna-Ruth, David-John and Timothy; Wilma Voskamp of Toronto; Marian VanVeen of Atwood and family; Henry (Lynn) of Tiverton and children Alex, Zoe, Katie and Benjamin; John of Atwood and son Sawyer; Darryl (Ann) of Kurtzville and family; praying grandfather of twenty-six grandchildren and great- grandfather of forty-four great-grandchildren.  

He was predeceased by two sons, two grandsons and two great-granddaughters. 

Also, loving stepfather of the late Karen (Blair) Scrivens, David (Jane) Belch and Daniel (Ruth) Belch, and 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place on Jan 18, 2025 at the Village Table Church, 295 Main Street W, Listowel, Ontario.  Parking is available in the vicinity. Family at 11 am, Friends at 12:00 pm and Celebration of Life service at 1 pm. Luncheon will be served following the service. Memorial donations can be made to Joy Bible Camp or Hastings Park Bible Chapel.
