Hazel O’Neil

January 2, 1928 - February 9, 2021

Hazel O’Neil (Ward), formerly of Monkton, passed away peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Listowel on Tuesday February 9, 2021 at the age of 93. Hazel was a member of the former Rebekah Lodge Monkton, Moncrief Women’s Institute and Presbyterian Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, helped with local 4H clubs and had worked at the Monkton Chicken Hatchery.

Beloved wife of the late Arnold Ward (1990) and Robert O’Neil (2014). Loving mother of Doug (Sharon) Ward, Neil Ward, and Brenda Ruby. Special grandma of 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Ethel Crocker, Eileen Johnston and sister-in-law of Phyllis Young. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents Robert and Susanna (Strickert) Young, two daughters and one son in infancy, son-in-law Lyle (Butch) Ruby, brothers Gordon, John and his wife Evelyn, and brother-in-law Ted Crocker.

A private family funeral service will be held at Brenneman Funeral Home, Atwood with Rev. Marc Fraser officiating. Interment in Elma Centre Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Perth County appreciated by the family.
