Gordon L Evans - of Toronto, formerly of Atwood, passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre on Tuesday November 10th 2015 at the age of 96. Beloved husband of the late Joyce (Rogers) Evans. Loving father of Hilary (Chuck) and Morgan. Predeceased by his brother Cecil. Dear brother of Hazel Cousineau. Fondly remembered by niece Nancy (Paul). Dear friend of Les, Jacky, Evelyn & Donna. Gordon started playing the saxophone at age 11 and thru his career played with Sam Donahue (Billy May Orchestra), The Canadian Tribute to Glenn Miller, Jim Galloway's Wee Big Band, Ellis McClintock, Bert Niosi, Art Hallman, Tom DeMoraes, Luigi Romanelli, Trump Davidson and Paul Grosney and was considered one of the finest lead alto saxophone players in all of Canada.
