Don Hamilton

July 10, 1933 to May 14, 2013

Don Hamilton of Listowel formerly of Kitchener, passed away peacefully with family by his side at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Tuesday May 14, 2013 at the age of 79. Don opened his heart to many people. This was shown by his ten years of volunteering to drive patients to and from their many appointments for the Canadian Cancer Society. He became a good friend to many. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (Martin) Hamilton who predeceased him in 2007. Loving father of Judy and Bryan Shows of Cambridge, Diane and Bruno Dellapina of Kitchener, Kevin and Sherry Hamilton of Listowel. Special grandpa of Jeff and Lauren and their children Grayson and Layla; Jen; Shawn and Tammy and their children Miah, Dorian and Peyton; Melanie and her daughter Brianna; Chris and Holly; Jason and Megan; Brooke; Candice and Justin and their daughter Kylie. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Eileen Ament of Gowanstown, Bob and Isabel Hamilton of Stratford, Betty & Jack Dinsmore of Trowbridge and Pat Hamilton of Listowel. Fondly remembered by many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Muriel (Ward) Hamilton, brother Stuart Hamilton and brother-in-law Clayton Ament. Don's family invites relatives and friends to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Saturday May 18, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at Atwood Presbyterian Church on Sunday May 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Andrew Thompson officiating. Interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
