Brian Tormey

March 24, 1947 to March 14, 2008

Brian passed away at his residence in Atwood on Friday March 14, 2008. He was born 60 years ago in Northern Ireland, a son of the late William and Winnifred (Bailie) Tormey. Brian worked with the local farming community as an owner/manager of Atwood Farm Supplies. He served on the Board of Managers of Atwood Presbyterian Church; was a member of the Atwood Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years reaching the distinction of Captain and a former member of the Atwood Lion's Club. Brian was the devoted husband, father and papa of Kate (Rourke) Tormey of Atwood; Shane and Stacey Tormey and their son Nathan of Listowel, Sharon and Dave Strickler and their children Benjamin and Andrew of RR#1 Atwood. He will be missed by his brother Bill Tormey of Winnipeg, his extended family in Northern Ireland, his walking companion Shona and by many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Ed. Brian's family invites relatives and friends to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home 141 John Street, Atwood, on Wednesday March 19, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Atwood Presbyterian Church on Thursday March 20, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Alan Barr officiating. Spring interment will be in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
