Passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Sunday May 5, 2024 at the age of 66.
Survived by his brother Bruce Boyd of Mattawa, nephew Nash, niece Jacqueline, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his parents, Jack & Lois Boyd, and his niece Neely Boyd.
Barney worked in the construction business operating heavy equipment through the Operator's Union for many years. He took pride in telling the stories of "moving dirt," the places he visited and the characters he worked with. Barney lived in Monkton his whole life, and was welcomed at bonfires all over town as he made his regular stops. He also enjoyed his rounds in "the car," whichever one it happened to be at the time. You could almost set your watch by his travels, and would see the big smile and quiet head nod when it was time to move on to the next stop.
As per Barney's wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no official service. Please enjoy a beer, lay some rubber or look at the stars in remembrance. Interment in Elma Centre Cemetery.
