Betty Elliott

July 16, 1933 to March 23, 2019

Betty Elliott – of Listowel, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Saturday March 23, 2019 at the age of 85. Betty was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing, crocheting, travelling, dancing and socializing with friends and family. Betty was a very active member of the former Atwood Lioness Club serving on the executive for many years. Survived by her life partner Bob Wade. Loving mother of Brenda (Brian) Gartley, Bonnie (Robert) McCourt, Beverley Elliott (Chris Nowland) and Jim Elliott. Grandma of Jason (Cheryl), Lisa (Marc), Keri (Deep), Daniel (Sabrina), Adam, Richard (Kelly), Christina (Jason), Megan (Jason), John, David (Stacey), Sally, Raegan, Hunter, Rourke and great-grandma of 34. Sister-in-law of Marjorie Gabel (Bob Huras), Marlene Gilmore, Bernice (George) Magee, Audrey (Murray) Krotz and Shirley Rea. Remembered by Bob’s children, Larry (Betty) Wade, Glenn (Cathy) Wade, grandchildren Adam (RJ), Candice, Jennifer (Hans), Cheryl (Glenn), Krista (Tyler), Stephanie (Darrin), Andrea, Madelynn, Gabrial, Olivea and sisters-in-law Shirley, Edna, Marie and Madilynn Wade. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, Lori Tangney, Rose Peer and Terina Wnuk. Predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Marjorie (Sproule) Hamilton, husband Bill Elliott, brother Don and his wife Dorothy Hamilton, brothers Elgin, Oliver and Murray Rea, sister Bernice Henderson and brother Alan Parkhouse, brothers-in-law Don Gabel and Bob Gilmore, Bob Wade’s son Brian Wade and brothers Bill, Ken, Sam and Norman Wade. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Tuesday March 26 from 2-4 and 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 220 Livingstone Ave N., Listowel on Wednesday March 27, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev.
