Andrew McKeever (Mac) Thompson

September 17, 1929 to June 18, 2015


Andrew McKeever (Mac) Thompson - of Listowel, formerly of RR4 Listowel, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on Thursday June 18, 2015 at the age of 85. Mac was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel where he served as Elder for over 30 years. He was an active member of the North Perth Seniors and the Independent Order of Oddfellows Avon Lodge. Mac was also past president of the Listowel Agricultural Society and a charter member of the Listowel Curling Club. Beloved husband of Phyllis (Armstrong) Thompson whom he married in 1954. Loving father of Ross Thompson, Rick Thompson and Marie Laidlaw, Julie and John Haug, Lynn and Marc Lagerway, Jane Wahl and friend Randy Schubert, Joan and Paul Deacon, Bruce and Shellie Thompson, Lisa Thompson and friend Tammy VanKoughnett. Special grandpa of Ryan, Shawn, Andrew, Leanne, Matthew, Josie, Jackson, Aaron, Jessica, Carrie, Cody and great-grandpa of Zack, Brooklyn, Pheonix, Jaxon and Jase. Dear brother of Ruth Robinson and Lois Weixl and brother-in-law of Vera Thompson and Glenna Whitmore. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents John S. and Annie (McKeever) Thompson, grand-daughter Shannon, grand-daughter in-law Heidi, brothers and sisters John and Alice Thompson, Margaret and Bob McGibbon, Cam Thompson, Ross and Bea Thompson, Jim and Daphne Thompson, Isobel and Frank Todd, brothers-in-law Don Weixl and Roy Robinson. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Sunday June 21 from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Mac's life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel on Monday June 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
