Adeline Erb

Formerly of Millbank, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence in Nithview Home, New Hamburg on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the age of 95. She was born on November 30, 1927, the daughter of John and Emma (Roes) Ropp. Adeline was a member of Maple View Mennonite Church and found great meaning in her faith. A homemaker all of her life, Adeline was an avid reader and quilter until her eyesight prevented her from continuing these activities, and had volunteered at the Milverton Thrift Store prior to moving to Nithview. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, playing table games (where she was known to try to cheat!),

and ice skating. She will be remembered for her loving care of her family, a freezer supplied with home baked goods, the best stuffing, playing ball in the front yard, and her infectious smile and laughter.

Beloved wife of the late Elmer Erb (2019) to whom she was married for 64 years. Loving mother of Bruce (Sherry), Ross (Cathy), Brian (Lori) and Janet (John Ferguson). Special grandmother of Madison, Sierra, Peyton, Brendan (Blake), Aaron, Talia (Alex), Cameron (Dianna), and Kyle. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Kennell and fondly remembered by the extended Ropp and Erb families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Emmanuel, Elmer, and Daniel Ropp, sisters Esther Gerber and Clara Roth, sisters-in-law Mary (Gerber), Annie (Brenneman), and Edna (Wagler), and brothers-in-law Joseph Gerber and Milton Roth.

Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at Maple View Mennonite Church, 5074 Deborah Glaister Line, Wellesley on March 17, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:30-8:30 pm. The funeral service to celebrate Adeline’s life will be held at Maple View Mennonite Church on March 18, 2023 at 11:00 am with the ministry of Maple View Mennonite Church officiating.
